After a rebuild or fluid change, Jaguar, Land Rover Freelander and VW vehicles with the JF506E transmission may have no reverse and barely any forward movement.

In any vehicle except a Mazda, the JF506E will not have a filler tube or dipstick.

In a JF506E, a reduction band that is out of adjustment may cause gear-ratio errors to be stored, and the transmission may chatter in forward and reverse.

Some Volvo models equipped with the AW 55-50 transaxle may exhibit a neutral bang on take-off before or after overhaul.

In Dodge trucks & vans with RE rear-wheel-drive units, the transmission shuttle-shifts, and governor pressure and governor-pressure-sensor voltage are erratic.

Electronic noise on the TPS-signal wire is the most-likely cause of RE RWD transmissions cycling in and out of lockup.

In 1990-93 Honda Accords equipped with an “S” or “Sport” light, the light stays on all the time. In other vehicles the “D4” light remains on.

Broken pump gears and/or a severely damaged pump assembly may result in no movement in Dodge, Chrysler, Hyundai & Mitsubishi vehicles with F4A41/42/51-series transaxles.

At the start of production for the 1997 model year the input shaft has been redesigned in the area of the O-ring groove at the torque-converter end.

After overhaul, vehicles equipped with the MP6 or MP7 transaxle may exhibit a complaint of falling out of Drive at a stop or a slipping condition on takeoff.

Before or after overhaul, vehicles equipped with the MP6 or MP7 transaxle may exhibit a slight engagement delay in “D” and/or a binding condition in reverse.
