Sonnax appoints new company president

Sonnax Transmission Co. announced that vice president of operations Klynt Baker has been promoted to president. Baker joined Sonnax in 2018 to oversee manufacturing, engineering, quality, safety, facilities, maintenance, packaging automation and LEAN initiatives at the company’s Vermont and North Carolina locations. He succeeds outgoing president Steve Boyer.

Sonnax says that Baker’s leadership and expertise have been instrumental in expanding Sonnax’s manufacturing capabilities and capacity, driving over $3M of investment in new equipment. LEAN implementation has further boosted capacity and continuous improvement across company worksites, the company said in a press release.

“Sonnax has great people, products and services, and we strive to exceed customer expectations every day,” Baker said. “We’ve seen tremendous growth in the last five years, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where we — as a collective team — can go.”

Baker brings to his new position more than 25 years of experience in the global automotive and aftermarket industries. Prior to joining Sonnax, he held progressively responsible roles in solenoid engineering, manufacturing and project management at Flex (formerly Saturn Electronics & Engineering) and Rostra Powertrain Controls. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
