Circle D Specialties, a manufacturer of torque converters and driveline components for the automotive aftermarket, has announced the acquisition of Reid Racing, a maker of performance transmission cases and specialty heavy-duty axle components for off-road vehicles.
“We see this acquisition as a perfect fit, as we look forward to building upon the top-notch level of support and the standard of quality that both companies were founded on,” said Chris Sehorn, CEO of Circle D Specialties.
Reid was founded by Dennis and Debra Reid through a corporate spin-off from another company the couple had founded, Dedenbear Products, Inc. Reid Racing’s products, such as transmission cases, bellhousings, steering knuckles, etc., have grown to be widely used in racing disciplines, including drag racing, off-road racing and circle track racing.
“I have no doubt that Reid Racing is in good hands at Circle D Specialties and look forward to an exciting future. I will be staying on as a consultant for a period of time to help ensure a smooth transition between the two companies,” said Dennis Reid, Founder of Reid Racing Inc.
With the acquisition of Reid Racing, Circle D Specialties says it now offers a comprehensive range of performance products for both the drivetrain and undercarriage.
Over the next several months, Circle D will be transitioning and consolidating Reid’s Concord, CA, operations into their existing 58,000 sq.ft. facility in Houston, TX.
