BendPak announces leadership succession plan

BendPak, Inc. announced changes to its executive team effective August 3. President Don Henthorn, who has led the company since establishing it in 1965, will take on a more limited role in its daily operations as chairman emeritus. Jeff Kritzer will be promoted from executive vice president to succeed Henthorn as president and CEO. At the same time, Rudy Diaz will step up from vice president of information technology to executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO). Jim Fornear moves from financial controller to chief financial officer (CFO). Rounding out the leadership team, Javier Arias continues as vice president of operations.

BendPak says Henthorn will be active in an advisory capacity to ensure a seamless transition of leadership and will serve as a business mentor.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently submitted support to the U.S. Copyright Office for MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers’ petition for a new exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)’s anti-circumvention provisions. These provisions prohibit bypassing copyright protection systems. MEMA’s proposed exemption would allow consumers to view their vehicle’s telematics data and share that data with third-party repairers. The DOJ and FTC agreed with MEMA that providing consumers access to their vehicle’s telematics data would pose a minimal threat to copyright holders. They also agreed that this data could be accessed without increasing cybersecurity risks.

Deloitte study: Momentum is slowing for electrification in the U.S.
