Various aspects of the GM 8L45 / 90 eight-speed RWD models will be addressed. The 8L transmission family was released starting in 2015 in Cadillac, Corvette and SUV applications. Although the overall operation is similar to the ZF 8HP applications, transmission architecture is strictly GM. Specific problems have been ongoing and require a more focused approach to repair. Validate the complaint, refer to all relevant TSB’s and communicate with the customer before attempting to repair.
