The Mercedes 722.9XX NAG2 (7G-Tronic) rear-wheel-drive seven-speed automatic was modified from the 722.6XX five-speed transmission. Architecture is comparable as is rebuilding procedures. A significant departure however involves the valve body/conductor plate and the effort required to purchase and program the assembly.
