No Forward Good Reverse – A Leave Out or a Blow Out

There have been reports in the field that a garage shift from reverse to drive produces a “snapping” sound, which has been traced to a defect with the previous design output shaft assembly. Installing the “UNIGEAR” output shaft assembly seemed to have eliminated the garage shift noise.

U880E First 8-Speed Front Wheel Drive of Its Kind

This Aisin series front-wheel-drive, eight-speed automatic transmission is the first eight-speed front-wheel-drive of its kind and referred to as the AWF8F35/40/45/50. It’s also referred to as GA8F22AW by BMW, AF50-8 by GM, U880E by Lexus/Toyota and TG-81SC by Volvo to name a few.

Spring Season

A 2006 FORD Explorer with a 4.0 engine using the 5R55W/S type transmission came back to Jeremy at Warren Transmissions 8 months after the original rebuild. The customer stated that all was good prior to climbing a hill when it felt like he was losing power and the engine began to rev quite high like the trans was slipping. Customer said he managed to nurse it home.

The Pressure is Off

Jon at Wilson Transmissions received a 2010 Venza with a 3.5L/U660E combo from a used car lot. All seemed to be working good other than many dash indicators lit up. After scanning the vehicle and finding pressure switch codes (P0872 for TFP Sensor/Switch C and P0877 for TFP Sensor/Switch D), Jon ordered a TFP switch/TFT sensor assembly from the Toyota dealer.

VLP-Line Pressure Too High

A 2014 Dodge Journey 2.4L with a 41TES transmission came in to Electronica & Transmisiones in Buenos Aires Argentina. It had code P0869 set for Line Pressure High. Leonardo Luercho went out with the vehicle using his scan tool to begin his diagnostic approach.

10R80/10L90 Ford & GM Ten Speed Unique Filter System

This design will allow enough fluid volume to the pump during a cold start up and quickly prime the pump. As the fluid heats up (low viscosity), the Thermal Plate will move towards a slight ledge along the topside of the filter housing.
